This one is for you Janet, Revising Life, I hope you enjoy it.
A horse-riding duck from Texas
Abandoned her horse for a Lexus
She quickly drove to a farm
Did horse-vaulting with charm
Was one of their best chicken sexers
Sorry, I struggled with the rhymes for Texas!
Now then, The Viking! - Belleau Cottage
I have to admit a great liking
For vegetarian duck - 'The Viking'
He is tall and engaging
Conversation's wide ranging
Can be seen on The Wolds, bi-cycling
A middle-aged duck lost some feathers
While rolling around in the Heathers
Heather got up
Drank wine from a cup
Rode off on a Harley, in leathers
PEAR TREE LOG
pear tree log: I started this blog to keep my younger son, Jonny, in touch with life in Lincolnshire, while he spent a year working in China. That year turned into five! Now he is home and training to become a physics teacher. This is simply a patchwork quilt of some of the things I enjoy - life in rural Lincolnshire, our animals, friends, architecture, books, the gardens, and things of passing interest.

These are so impressive. I love how you rhymed things with Texas.
ReplyDeleteI need some duck sexers... I can't tell the boy-ducks from the girl-ducks!
Fabulous limericks. Uplifted my evening they did!
ReplyDeleteHi Lena, Fine set of whiskers you've got there! Really pleased that you got a chuckle out of my nonsense. I gave my undisciplined mind the job of writing one limerick for Natalie and hey presto, I can't find the off switch. I think output is slowing now though!
ReplyDeleteBonkers...
ReplyDeleteDom! Do you mean me, or the limericks?
ReplyDeleteYou still have weeks to go before the contest deadline on Dec 4th! :)
ReplyDeletehahaha i love your little poems!
ReplyDeleteShu Han - I have sent a limerick to you. I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteKnatolee - This is so cruel!!
Oh my! I never thought to go in that direction. That was laugh out loud funny! (But I don't think "chicken sexing" is in my future ... I hope.)
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, You are a good sport! Perhaps you could do more of the equine vaulting!
