We have just had our evening meal. I took the opportunity (while cooking) to oven dry a large tray of grated lemon zest to add to the jars of lemon-pepper seasoning which forms part of some gifts...
Well, I would have, George threw it all away when he stacked the dishes in the dishwasher....
A time for loving, a time for giving, a time for forgiving...
The holiday begins!
PEAR TREE LOG
pear tree log: I started this blog to keep my younger son, Jonny, in touch with life in Lincolnshire, while he spent a year working in China. That year turned into five! Now he is home and training to become a physics teacher. This is simply a patchwork quilt of some of the things I enjoy - life in rural Lincolnshire, our animals, friends, architecture, books, the gardens, and things of passing interest.
That's something I would do. I'm always "cleaning up" after Jerry. Sometimes it's not very helpful. Ah, love. Who needs dried out old lemon zest anyway!?!
ReplyDeletewell said that woman
ReplyDeletesorry but I had to laugh that's something I would do to my hubby, he's always leaving weird stuff on MY counter tops....not that lemon zest is weird! You'll have to put your reciepe for that on your blog sometime. linda
ReplyDeleteHi Mitch, Well, I needed it - but I need my kitchen helper even more! I love him.
ReplyDeleteHi John, Breathe deeply, move on - that's what my Mother would have said - after she had launched a missile attack!! I'll settle for going out and braving the shops again tomorrow! He meant well.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I have been mixing and grinding this stuff for a few days now - peppercorns, chillies, spices, sea salt, etc. We'd even talked about it and how it just needed that final ingredient!! But hey, that is life! An early trip to the shops will sort it out tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWell, I bet it made the house smell wonderful while it lasted!
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooo!!!!! Right. Kick him out!!!
ReplyDeleteMs Sparrow, I really love the smell of lemons - I guess I'm going to get to enjoy that smell yet again today. Lucky me!!
ReplyDeleteDom, When he wakes I'll kick him out. Be careful though, he may well just cut across the field to your place - great food, great company, great house..!x
ReplyDeleteShades of a Grandfather washing up by hand for hours to take the decoration off the family silver...
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I had forgotten about that. Poor old Grandad thought it was really dirty ... and poor old mum was upset that a) he thought that she was so sloppy and b) upset that he'd ruined some of her best silver!
ReplyDeleteOooh dear, sounds exactly like something my Gordon would do! You're a good and patient woman. :)
