PEAR TREE LOG

pear tree log: I started this blog to keep my younger son, Jonny, in touch with life in Lincolnshire, while he spent a year working in China. That year turned into five! Now he is home and training to become a physics teacher. This is simply a patchwork quilt of some of the things I enjoy - life in rural Lincolnshire, our animals, friends, architecture, books, the gardens, and things of passing interest.

Shouldn't have Partied with the Elves...

... they're wild...  top tip: never play cards with them, they nearly always win.

I really intended to stay awake to see the new year in,  we watched a film, then I started on a lovely new book, I must have fallen asleep because I was woken at midnight by trembling Toby and two cats with tails like toilet brushes - The Tavern was setting off fireworks to celebrate.  By the time I had soothed the girls and Toby I was pretty much awake so I opened a bottle of fizz and we toasted the New Year.  I managed half a glass  -  then fell asleep.  We are not party animals!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Jonny, Happy New Year!
I hope you had a lovely time - we toasted you.
This is another one of Tim's little characters, you may well have seen him before.  Still no news about Davina but she is keeping well.  We saw Tim and Isis over the holiday, they send you their love.

Love you,

Mum

  7. Mitch, he is a creepy little chap - George has never quite got over the fact that Tim didn't fancy doing Disney-type characters!
