A Tiny Toad |
Damselfly |
was delighted to find I had captured this photograph of a little beauty.
We were just turning for home when we spotted a large bird flying around the meadow...I couldn't make out what it was, but I could guess... point, click, hope for the best...
Barn Owl |
Apologies for the poor quality, but there it is, a barn owl. Daylight hunting to feed her young. She was a very long way off, so I was thrilled to get this photo of her.
Now that is what I call a wonderful country walk.
Oh, my goodness, Elaine....fate it is, a white owl!
ReplyDeleteHello Meggie, A beautiful white owl - I thought you would like it. I'll keep watching out for it and try to get a better photograph!
DeleteVery neat owl indeed!
ReplyDeleteHello Owl, It was a great surprise to see it swooping around the field at that time of day.
DeleteThat seems to to tick all the boxes for a great walk!
ReplyDeleteJane x
Hello Jane, It was fun - and it's all out there for free.
DeleteAmazing photos, and amazing spotting skills from Harry!
ReplyDeleteHello Scarlet, I'm really pleased that Harry is getting into the habit of looking for interesting things, he is a good little walker.
DeleteAll wonderful. What did Harry report on at home?
ReplyDeleteHello Joanne, Well, that would be the three jam tarts he ate when he got back to our house..
DeleteOf course Harry spots those things in the grass--his eyes are much closer to the ground! Great shot of the owl and the damselfly. You do good work!
ReplyDeleteHello Ms Sparrow, Harry being closer to the ground is proving to be so useful! I must build upon his carrying skills, then he can take the camera bag for me..
DeleteI remember when my children were small (and now my grandchildren) and they'd find the tiniest objects on the ground...oh to have that eyesight again! However, you didn't do too bad capturing that beautiful dragonfly and majestic barn owl. I love your country walk.
ReplyDeleteBTW...I just found a verse that is quite appropriate. It goes like this:
"Just because you wander doesn't mean you're lost!" Love you, Susan
Hello Susan, I must find an old pair of glasses and store them in my camera bag...I keep forgetting to take spectacles with me, which renders me almost blind when it comes to using the camera. It is those unexpected and wonderful gifts from nature which turn a nice country walk into something wonderful. I love the verse! xx
DeleteThat's a particularly lovely photo of the damselfly. They are such an amazing blue, it is a treat to look at. Pretty impressive shot of the owl, too.
ReplyDeleteHello Evlyn, It is a particularly lovely blue, once we reached the small fish ponds there were lots of them hovering over the water. Beautiful little flashes of colour.
DeleteIn this awful weather I usually find Toads in the pool. First job of the day; REMOVE TOADS.
ReplyDeleteHello Cro, I don't give mine swimming lessons.. they are set to work, munching on slugs, in the poly tunnel!
DeleteHow special to get a picture of an owl in flight. The damselfly is very pretty. I'm always happy to see a toad at home as I know they eat all kinds of bothersome insects.
ReplyDeleteHello Jenny, I was so fortunate - I fully expected it to turn out to be just a blur!
DeleteAre you sure it was hunting or was it delivering mail to Harry Potter?
ReplyDeleteHello Doc, Mail to Harry, my grandson, would have been so much fun!
DeleteThe Toad, The Damselfly and the Owl sounds like a wonderful children's book! I loved seeing these marvelous photos, particularly of that incredible owl! What a nice, nice walk in the country!
ReplyDeleteHello Marie, I hadn't thought of that, but it would be a great one! It was such an unexpected treat to see the owl and I am so pleased it happened when I had the camera with me.
DeleteI would love to see a Barn owl in the wild. That is a wonderful photo!!!
